Ingredients

  • ✦ ​1 large tablespoon Cranberry Sweet and Tart peserve
  • ✦ ​6–8 fresh mint leaves (plus an extra sprig for garnish)
  • ✦ ​½ oz fresh lime juice (lime pairs beautifully with mint!)
  • ✦ ​4 oz chilled dry Prosecco or Cava (Spumante)
  • ✦ Ice (optional)

Add a sprinkle of sugar or nuts on top.

Procedure

​Muddle: In a cocktail shaker or sturdy mixing glass, combine the cranberry reserve, 6–8 mint leaves, and fresh lime juice.

​Activate: Use a muddler (or the end of a wooden spoon) to gently bruise the mint leaves into the reserve. You want to release the aromatic oils, not pulverize the leaves into small bits.

​Combine: Add a small handful of ice to the shaker (if using). Add about 1 oz of the sparkling wine and give it a very gentle swirl to integrate the reserve.

​Pour: Straining is optional. For a rustic, flavorful drink (like the image), pour the entire contents into a chilled glass (a large coupe or rocks glass).

​Top: Top the drink with the remaining Prosecco.

​Garnish and Serve: Finish with a generous, fresh sprig of mint and perhaps a single cranberry. Serve immediately.
